If your company already relies on social media for interactions with customers or employees, the answer appears to be leaning toward a very loud "YES," especially if your line-up includes Twitter.
According to strong anecdotal and some statistical data cited in this article on Read Write Web, Twitter usage is declining quickly among early adopters of Google+. Facebook is still strong, probably because of existing social networks, but many users are expressing their intention to jump ship as soon as they can get their friends using Google+.
What does this mean for your company's social media communications? At the very least, it means you should get someone on your team playing around with Google+. Fortunately, adding another outlet doesn't mean you have to hire another person to manage it. With these simple instructions, one person can post the same update to as many social media locations as they choose.
Have fun and brace yourself. This is almost certainly not the last evolution in social media.
